Atlanta Rising Artists’ Residency
The Atlanta Rising Artists’ Residency provides local creators with studio space, exposure, and an informal showcase so that they may bring their visions to life and propel their creative careers towards bright futures!
One local choreographer is invited to be part of the Atlanta Rising Artists’ Residency per residency period. There are three residency opportunities per season: Fall (Sept through Nov), Spring (March through May), and Summer (June through August).
During the residency period, artists are provided with 5 hours of studio time per week, special features on our social media platforms (Neighborhood Ballet + Rise City Dance), and an evening at the Rise City Dance Annex for an informal showing of their work or process.
In the case that the work in process during the residency will be showcased elsewhere, RCD will also include the event details in a monthly newsletter that deploys to all NB + RCD families.
Additionally, resident artists are invited to host a workshop for RCD dancers. In an effort to provide the next generation of makers with valuable learning experiences, the resident artist will have the opportunity to curate a workshop that embodies their creative practice and process and share it through a 1 hour and 30 minute workshop.
If compatible with the creative process, artists in residence are also encouraged to open one of their rehearsal/process periods to the RCD dancers. RCD dancers will have the opportunity to observe, take notes, and ask questions after the rehearsal period to gain insight into what a working process looks like.
